Constant worry, a restless mind, tension headaches and broken sleep are becoming everyday complaints. Ayurveda sees this as an imbalance of Vata and the mind (manas), often described as Chittodvega — an agitated, unsettled mind. Disturbed sleep is Anidra. Rather than only calming the symptom, Ayurvedic care looks at your routine, diet, sleep and nervous strain together.

At Bharadwaj Ayurveda in Althan, Surat, Dr. Jayveersinh J. Mahida (BAMS) reviews your history, lifestyle and any current medicines before planning gentle, supportive care. This complements — it does not replace — medical or psychiatric treatment.

Our approach

How we help, step by step.

01

Diagnosis & Nadi Pariksha

We read your pulse, review your sleep, diet, work strain and routine, and identify how Vata and the mind have gone off balance. Pulse diagnosis begins every visit.

02

Daily routine & lifestyle (Dinacharya)

Practical, doable changes to sleep timing, meals, screen habits and breathing — the foundation that keeps a restless mind steady.

03

Classical herbal medicine

Herbal preparations such as Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Jatamansi and Shankhpushpi are prescribed only after Dr. Jayveersinh Mahida reviews your case and current medicines — never self-prescribed.

04

Shirodhara & Panchakarma (when suitable)

For persistent tension and poor sleep, a supervised Shirodhara or Panchakarma — a steady stream of warm medicated oil over the forehead, with Abhyanga or Nasya — offers a deeper, calming reset when it suits your case.

मनःशान्ति

Calming the mind is treated as seriously as calming the body.

Ayurveda has described care for the mind (manas) for centuries, through routine, diet and therapies such as Shirodhara. Dr. Jayveersinh Mahida assesses each person first, and for severe anxiety, panic or depression will encourage proper medical and psychiatric care alongside Ayurvedic support.

Stress & anxiety · Common questions

Your questions, answered.

Can Ayurveda help with stress and anxiety?
Ayurvedic care may help you manage everyday stress, mild anxiety and disturbed sleep by working on daily routine, diet, sleep and the balance of Vata and the mind (manas). Dr. Jayveersinh Mahida reviews your history before recommending routine changes, herbal preparations or therapies like Shirodhara. It supports, and does not replace, medical or psychiatric care.
What is Shirodhara and how does it help?
Shirodhara is a classical therapy in which a steady stream of warm medicated oil is poured over the forehead. Many patients find it deeply calming and helpful for tension and sleep. It is done under supervision and is recommended only when it suits your case.
Should I stop my anxiety or sleep medicine?
No. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own. If you are already under a doctor or psychiatrist, continue that treatment and bring a full list of your medicines so Dr. Jayveersinh Mahida can plan Ayurvedic support safely alongside it.
Are herbs like Ashwagandha and Brahmi safe?
These classical herbs are widely used for stress and sleep, but the right herb, dose and combination differ for each person and can interact with other medicine. They should be taken only after Dr. Jayveersinh Mahida reviews your case, not self-prescribed.
When should I see a doctor urgently instead?
If you have severe or worsening anxiety, panic attacks, thoughts of self-harm, or symptoms that stop you living normally, please seek medical or psychiatric help without delay. Ayurvedic care is best used for everyday stress and mild, stable concerns, alongside proper medical care.
A steadier mind starts with one visit.
