Nadi Pariksha is Ayurveda's classical pulse diagnosis: reading the radial pulse at three points to assess the balance of Vata, Pitta and Kapha, the strength of your digestion, and the state of your tissues. At Bharadwaj Ayurveda in Althan, Surat, every pulse reading is done personally by Dr. Jayveersinh J. Mahida (BAMS), never by an assistant, and never rushed.

It is the diagnostic foundation of this clinic: every first consultation begins with the pulse, continues with an unhurried conversation about your routine, sleep and diet, and ends with a written plan you can take home. Patients visit us for Nadi Pariksha from Althan, Vesu, Piplod, Bhatar, Adajan and across Surat.

What the reading shows

One pulse, many answers.

In trained hands the pulse is a precise clinical instrument. A reading at Bharadwaj Ayurveda assesses:

เคฆเฅ‹เคท

Dosha balance

Which of Vata, Pitta and Kapha is aggravated right now: the vikruti driving your current symptoms.

เคชเฅเคฐเค•เฅƒเคคเคฟ

Your constitution

Your prakruti, the body type you were born with, which decides the diet, routine and medicines that suit you for life.

เค…เค—เฅเคจเคฟ

Digestion & ama

The strength of your digestive fire (agni) and whether metabolic toxins (ama) have begun to accumulate.

เคงเคพเคคเฅ

Systems under strain

Which tissues and systems are carrying the load (gut, liver, joints, hormones, sleep) and where treatment should begin.

เคฎเคพเคฐเฅเค—

The treatment path

Whether your case needs diet correction and herbal medicine alone, or a structured Panchakarma programme.

The doctor's index, middle and ring fingers rest on the radial artery โ€” index nearest the wrist crease reading Vata, middle reading Pitta, ring reading Kapha. Both wrists are read, a few quiet minutes each.
BEFORE

1 ยท Arrive settled

Avoid a heavy meal, tea or coffee for about two hours before your reading, and sit quietly for a few minutes on arrival so the pulse reflects your true state. Bring lab reports, scans, prescriptions and the names of medicines or supplements you take.

DURING

2 ยท The pulse, then the conversation

Dr. Jayveersinh Mahida reads the pulse at three finger positions on both wrists, assessing dosha, digestion and tissue state. The reading takes a few quiet minutes and is followed by a detailed conversation about your complaint, stress, routine, sleep, appetite and history.

AFTER

3 ยท Findings explained, plan written

You leave with an explanation of what the pulse suggested, how that matches your symptoms and reports, and a written plan covering diet, daily routine, herbal medicine and, where needed, Panchakarma. Follow-ups review symptoms first, then the pulse again when useful.

An honest word

Pulse reading and modern reports.

Nadi Pariksha is not a replacement for laboratory tests or scans, and any clinic that claims otherwise is overselling it. What the pulse offers is a different layer of information: the pattern behind your numbers. Two patients with the same lab report often need entirely different treatment, and the pulse is how classical Ayurveda tells them apart.

Dr. Jayveersinh Mahida reads your pulse alongside your reports, not instead of them. Bring whatever investigations you have: blood work, sonography, prescriptions. The combination of modern data and classical diagnosis is what produces a plan that actually fits your body. If your case needs further investigation or a specialist's opinion, you will be told so plainly.

Nadi Pariksha guides treatment on our focused pages: acidity & gas, joint & back pain, women's health & PCOS, piles & fistula, skin problems and stress management. Every Panchakarma plan begins with it.

Why we begin with the pulse
โ€œThe pulse tells me where to look. The conversation tells me why. Only then does a prescription mean something.โ€

Nadi Pariksha ยท Common questions

Before your reading.

What does Nadi Pariksha assess?
In classical Ayurveda, pulse qualities help a physician assess dosha patterns and digestive strength. Nadi Pariksha does not replace laboratory tests, scans or a medical diagnosis, so Dr. Jayveersinh Mahida uses it alongside your history, examination and reports.
How should I prepare for a pulse reading?
Avoid a heavy meal, tea or coffee for about two hours before your visit, and sit quietly for a few minutes on arrival. Bring recent lab reports, scans, prescriptions and the names of medicines or supplements you take so Dr. Jayveersinh Mahida can review the full picture.
What happens during the assessment?
Dr. Jayveersinh Mahida reads the pulse at three finger positions on both wrists, then discusses your main complaint, digestion, sleep, stress, appetite, routine, history and reports. The pulse reading guides the plan, but it is not used as a replacement for modern tests or medical diagnosis.
Is Nadi Pariksha included in the consultation fee?
Yes. Nadi Pariksha is not sold separately at Bharadwaj Ayurveda. It is the diagnostic foundation of every first consultation, followed by an unhurried conversation and a written treatment plan. Plan 60 to 90 minutes for the first visit.
How often is the pulse checked again?
Dr. Jayveersinh Mahida may read it again during follow-up as one part of reviewing your symptoms and progress. Follow-up timing depends on your treatment plan.
